This is just a friendly reminder to the NBA. This message can also be distributed to every sports network, television station, newspaper, website and every other media outlet.

I'm sure that many people are unaware of what I am about to say. You can consider this as a public service announcement from the ThunderBallers. I feel that my two main purposes of writing are to inform and entertain, especially when it comes to the Oklahoma City Thunder. I love adding humor to my articles and hope that all true Thunder fans will help spread the word about this new site as well look to get the entire world involved in learning about this great, young team.

But today's main purpose is to inform. Any entertainment is strictly coincidental.  This great league that we all know as the National Basketball Association has exactly 30 teams. They feature 15 teams in the Eastern Conference, as well as another 15 teams in the Western Conference. That makes a grand total of 30. That is lesson number one, for I feel that many people are unaware of that number.

The second lesson is that while the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics have dominated throughout the course of this great game, they do not receive automatic byes to the NBA Finals each year. They, like the other 28 teams, have to earn their way to the championship. That means that they are not the only teams who have a chance to play for a title. All 30 teams have an equal opportunity. Well, except for possibly the Los Angeles Clippers.

Next lesson: every team plays at least a couple of games each week. And furthermore, they all count just the same. Take this week, for example. The Thunder play tonight against the New Jersey Nets, Friday against the Toronto Raptors and Sunday against the Golden State Warriors. That is three games left this week.

But other teams still have big games on tap this week as well. The Portland Trailblazers battle the Celtics tonight. The Orlando Magic also play the Chicago Bulls this evening. On Friday night, the Dallas Mavericks will tangle with the Utah Jazz. On Sunday, the New Orleans Hornets will face off against the San Antonio Spurs. Those are some marquee matchups.

So why am I rambling on like this? I promise that I am getting to that point shortly.

Tomorrow night, there are just two games on the 2010-2011 NBA schedule. Unfortunately, all everyone wants to talk about is one game between two teams who have combined for a record of one game under .500 this season. The Cleveland Cavaliers will host the Miami Heat. Perhaps you have heard about this one?

We have all heard about this one, basically ever since the schedule was released after LeBron James left the Cavs and joined "Heat Three Kings" in South Beach. Much to the delight of most of the world, things have not gone as well for James and Miami as he had hoped. Personally, I do not care all that much, as James is not the first person to play against his former team.

Michael Jordan played against the Bulls. Wilt Chamberlain played against the Philadelphia 76ers. Shaquille O'Neal has played against, well, all of his former teams. Players leave. It happens.

But it is time to get over James leaving. Get over what the Heat were able to pull off this past offseason. It was not illegal. It was impressive. It just isn't working yet. It is time to move on and watch all of the 30 teams in the league. Not just the Celtics and Lakers. Not just the Heat. We can even watch the Clippers...if there is nothing else on at the time.

This league has 30 teams. Let's pay attention to all of them.
